'Batwoman' Scores Her Own 'DC' Title Batwoman, whose civilian identity is Kate Kane was reintroduced to the DC Universe in 2006 as a lesbian. Now she is stepping out of the closet into her own comic book title at years end. Recently 'Batwoman' has taken the lead in Detective Comics, while Bruce Wayne has been lost in time.
