DC Comics' solicitations have revealed a return to the classic red and blue look for Superman. The last year has seen our beloved Superman leaving Earth to reside on New Krypton with his fellow Kryptonians and adopting the traditional black and grey military uniform.
The cover for Superman #699 shows his Kryptonian garb in tatters with the iconic Man of Tomorrow uniform showing underneath. We knew the "Kryptonian" uniform was just a phase and now it looks like the phase is over. "Superman has defeated Brainiac before, but it cost him the life of his father," reads the DC's solicitation. "Now Brainiac has returned, more powerful than ever, and the entire planet of New Krypton is at stake! "Things look bleak for the Man of Steel and his people, but for all Brainiac’s knowledge, he still has one lesson to learn: Superman. Never. Gives. Up." Superman #699 is written by James Robinson (Superman: World of New Krypton) with art by Bernard Chang (Wonder Woman) - is a part of the 'Brainiac and the Legion of Super-Heroes' crossover, and will be released on April 28.
