It looks like the 'Dark Knight' beat out the 'Last Son Of Krypton' in a close race. Heritage Auction Galleries says a 1939 comic book in which Batman makes his debut has sold at auction in Dallas for more than $1 million — setting a record for the amount paid for a comic.

On Monday, a copy of the first comic book featuring Superman sold for $1 million in a sale between a private seller and a private buyer. The comic was a 1938 edition of Action Comics No. 1.

Barry Sandoval made a great investment during the 60's when he bought his prized comic for a mere $100. This week his $100 inestment paid off when he got himself a cool $1,075,500. Maybe the government should get rid of the bonds and just put their money in rare comics.
