Tags: 'DC Universe Online': MMO Meets Comic Books This week DC has announced two new bi-weekly series (Brightest Day and Justice League: Generation Lost), and today the publisher is adding a new weekly series to their arsenal, DC Universe: Legends. Most of you have heard by now that DC Universe Online will be a massively multiplayer online action-RPG that will focus on putting players in the shoes of rookie heroes and villains, fighting alongside DC icons like Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman and the Green Lantern. DC is now going to bridge the comic book and gaming audiences. They are working with SOE to construct a series that will help tell a core story and connect with gamers, giving them hints, strategies and even a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of the game.'Batman: Arkham Asylum' Sequel Announced It was likely to happen and during the opening of Spike's Video Game Award Show, it was announced Batman: Arkham Asylum it would be getting a sequel. The Joker dropped off a giant present for fans in attendance.'DC Universe Online' Is Headed To Facebook It looks like Superman, Batman and the rest of the heroes of the DC Universe are headed to Facebook. Mass Animation, the collaborative animation project headed by former Sony Digital topper Yair Landau, is launching a DC Universe Online Animation Contest on Facebook.'Captain America' And 'Thor' Games Planned For 2011 It is already a pre drawn conclusion to anyone following the lucrative comics-to-movies-to-games business, but Marvel's recent quarterly financial report (via Gamespot) confirmed it: Captain America and Thor will be getting their own video games in 2011. The two games are planned to arrive alongside the pair of summer movies based on the characters, with the Thor movie is currently shooting for a May of 2011 release date and The First Avenger: Captain America is scheduled to hit theaters in July of that same year. |
