Wolverine will continue to carve up viewers for Nicktoons Network.

The animated network said Wednesday it has picked up an additional 26 episodes of the Marvel Animation-produced series Wolverine and the X-Men.

The series, which follows Wolverine as he reunites with the X-Men, drew 589,000 viewers in its Jan. 23 debut on the channel. Overall, the series is averaging more than 500,000 viewers.

In addition, the series helped the network post its highest-rated April ever with all core demographics and total viewers.

"Wolverine and the X-Men is a proven hit with our audience who can't get enough of this new action-packed series," said Keith Dawkins, Nicktoons Network general manager and senior vice president of Nickelodeon Programming Partnerships in a statement. "We are excited to continue working with Marvel to bring viewers the next chapter for these super heroes."
