Recently there has not been much said about the upcoming "Deadpool" movie but it looks like that is changing. While Ryan Reynolds has been playing the part of 'Green Lantern', Fox has been trying to put together a super team for our 'Merc with a Mouth.' First they got Ryan Reynolds to play the part of "Deadpool", reprising his role from "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Second, they got "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the "Deadpool" script. Now, it is time for a director.

Production Weekly is reporting that 20th Century Fox has offered Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, Sin City and From Dusk Till Dawn) to direct the "Deadpool" spin-off. Rodriguez is currently signed on to direct "Machete" and to produce the "Predators" reboot. With the unique anti-hero position of "Deadpool", Rodriguez would be a #1 pick for the job.
