An absolute delight for all you Whovians and True Believers out there; original Doctor Who Weekly and Monthly artwork by the celebrated British comic book artist, Dave Gibbons.

This is the artwork for page 13 of issue #63 of Marvel's Doctor Who monthly magazine.

Penciled and inked by Dave Gibbons on Bristol Board. The issue was released in April 1982. There are various markups around the margins of the page and some screentone shaded areas in some panels. The page number has been altered sometime after original production when the artwork was reused for the American Doctor Who comic by Marvel.

The page measures approximately 485x380mm.

Gibbons is best known for his collaborations with writer Alan Moore, which include the miniseries Watchmen and the Superman story “For the Man Who Has Everything”. He was an artist for 2000 AD, for which he contributed a large body of work from its first issue in 1977. He has worked for Marvel, DC, Vertigo, Dark Horse and more.

He became the lead artist for the Doctor Who comics in 1979, illustrating the comic strips from 1-69, only missing 4 issues during this time. These strips were later reprinted by Marvel in the US monthly comic of Doctor Who, for which Gibbons also illustrated the covers.

A true collector's piece for any Marvel, comic book art, or Doctor Who fan by a celebrated artist.

We have more comic book art from Doctor Who comics, both front covers and interior pages in our Original Comic Book Art collection.
