R. Charles Roylance (born c. 1930, UK) was a British comic artist best known for his long-running work on Captain Hurricane in Valiant and The Best of the West in Lion. He also illustrated a number of other IPC strips, including Nipper. Roylance produced artwork for Cowboy Comics Library between 1953 and 1961, and later contributed to Warlord during the 1970s. His earliest known published work appears to be illustrations for Valerie Steps Out by Samuel Thomas James (1948), while his last recorded comics work includes several Warlord strips in 1976 (as listed by the GCD), giving him a career spanning at least 28 years. Captain Hurricane was a popular Fleetway Publications character featured in Valiant throughout the 1960s and 1970s, first appearing in issue #1 (Oct 1962). Stories were written by notable writers such as Scott Goodall, Desmond Pride, and later Jon Rose, with Roylance providing the artwork for the strip for many years.

Pricing: We price our comics around FMV (fair market value) for the grade at the time of listing for sale. If you notice we have multiple comics at the same price for different grades or vice-versa, this will be due to FMV fluctuation at the time of pricing. If you think a comic is not priced correctly, we won't have gotten around to re-pricing that book yet. In this case, please feel free to make an offer using the "make offer" button!
