'The Batman' Movie Delayed Until 2022

Yet another DC movie has been postponed this week. The Batman, which is due to be Robert Patterson's first batman movie has been delayed to 2022.

Cineworld's in the UK and U.S are temporarily closed due to the restrictions and knock on effect caused by the pandemic. Patterson has recently contracted Covid-19 himself but are now back filming.

The movie is said to not just be another origin but will show what events and people shaped the Batman. It will bring back to the big screen the iconic villains we haven't seen since the 80's and 90's. Paul Dano will be The Riddler, Colin Farrell is Penguin and Zoe Kravitz will play Catwoman. "Paul Dano plays a version of the Riddler that no one has ever seen before... what he is doing is going to blow people's minds," Director Matt Reeves has said in an interview about Dano taking on the part. Andy Serkis is going to be Alfred as well Jeffrey Wright taking on the role of Commissioner Gordon. There are a lot of big names in this movie and it looks like we will see a much darker version of the villains compared to the daft, light hearted ones we remember fondly from the 90's. The film is due to be released on March 4th 2022.
