As we were hanging MUTE's original pop art canvas of Superman/Clark Kent in our new World of Superheroes HQ, it dawned on us that even though Superman The Movie was such a seminal event, we had a dearth of memorabilia relating to the film. It was after all the film that made us “believe a man could fly”.

Although Tim Burtons 1989 Batman film broke box office records, it was surely the 1978 Superman film starring Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder that paved the way for the superhero domination of the media that we see today. So we went in search of Super stuff and our old friend Robert Bailey came up trumps again, creating 8 wonderful pencil sketches of classic scenes from the movie. These signed framed pieces now sit proudly in our archive and our feelings of deprivation have been assuaged.

Everyone in the office has their favourite. Mine: 'Superman and Lois in New York' (Although I think Robert should have called the city Metropolis). It shows Superman stood behind Lois on the balcony of her apartment,  about to lift her into their maiden flight together. Classic, powerful and romantic.

Anyone who followed the films through Phase 1, 2 and 3 will have been as emotionally drained as I was when they were sat amazed and a little dead inside after learning how the Avengers and most of the MCU defeated Thanos.

Despite the Avengers finally being free of Thanos' reign, the price they had to pay tied in well ending Phase three. Vision's humbling sacrifice to save the woman he loved as well as the Universe itself meant that this gave marvel an opportunity to extend the MCU as we know it.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting Wanda Vision, the first official Marvel series on Disney+ that would tie into the MCU Universe carrying on the romance of Vision and Wanda. Anyone familiar with the Marvel comics will know and will have guessed that Wanda aka Scarlet Witch will be controlling reality which will swap between the 'happy family' realties which keeps Vision alive and the real world.

There are a lot of different angles Marvel could go with this series but one most likely will be using Wanda's chaos magic to change reality to introduce more Mutants into the MCU. As everyone knows 20th Century FOX have owned the X-MEN franchise for over 15 years but Disney has been slowly taking back the characters owned by FOX including Tom Holland's Spider-Man who was first introduced in Captain America: Civil War back in 2016. Going back to Wanda's reality, in the new trailer there is an unmistakable scene showing Wanda and Vision having twin babies, these two are almost definitely going to be William and Thomas who turn into Billy Kaplan and Tommy Shepherd who each develop mutant powers, Billy able to alter reality like Scarlet Witch and Tommy is able to run at super-speed like his uncle Quicksilver. There is a lot more information and back story that I won't go into because it gets very in depth and complicated but if it's true it could mean that Marvel might introduce other X-MEN characters in the future, maybe in Phase 5 as Marvel have already planned their up-coming Marvel films for Phase 4 including Eternals, Morbius Thor: Love and Thunder.

Even before the runaway success of Gal Gadots cinema appearances as Wonder Woman in her own film, in Batman v Superman and the Justice League, we always had a soft spot for the Amazonian Princess.

These movies compliment the original Wonder Woman art and prints we have from our stable of guest artists including Becky Knapp, MUTE, Robert Bailey and Steve Lydic.

In the gallery of World of Superheroes HQ hangs the huge framed box canvas reproduction of the cover of HULK comic #1 signed by his creator, Stan Lee.

The Incredible Hulk is, along with Spider-Man, Marvels most popular hero after scene stealing appearances and one liners in the Avengers movies, but this wasn’t always the case. When the comic was released with a small print run in 1962, it ran for only 6 issues before being cancelled due to poor sales.

As I was writing this piece, our archivist recalled that the owner of the Sterling Collection had kindly donated to the archive this hand written reply from 1963 by Stan Lee himself to a fan in Yorkshire asking why he couldn’t buy Issue #7. Even the address side of this is fascinating, containing Marvels address and the New York postage stamp. As well as being an important Historical document, this modest piece of blue card goes a long way to explaining the success of Marvel Comics in the early days. The fact that the creator and editor would go to the trouble of sending a handwritten note to someone half way around the world shows how much Stan valued his customers and understood the importance of the personal touch. It’s a philosophy that all the staff here at World of Superheroes will try to embrace.

By the way, if any of you are wondering why the Hulk is grey in Issue #1, then green forever after, the answer is that the printers had a real problem creating a consistent grey so ever the pragmatist, Stan said,
“No problem, just make him green.”
